Gnocchi With Sage Butter (serves 4)


500g fresh potato gnocchi , 80g butter, 1/2 cup small sage leaves, 1/2 cup walnuts roughly chopped, 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg, 1 tablespoon finely chopped chives.


Cook gnocchi in a large saucepan of simmering salted water, following packet directions, until just tender. Meanwhile, melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat for 5 minutes or until butter is frothy and begins to turn golden. Add sage and walnuts. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in nutmeg. Drain gnocchi and add to frying pan. Return to medium heat. Cook, tossing, for 2 to 3 minutes or until warmed through. Sprinkle with chives. Season with salt and pepper. Serve
